MISSION STATEMENT


ELMORE COUNTY VOAD IS A HUMANITARIAN ASSOCIATION OF VOLUNTARY ORGANIZATION WHO MAY BE ACTIVE IN ALL PHASES OF DISASTER.  ITS MISSION IS TO FOSTER EFFICIENT, STREAMLINED SERVICE DELIEVER EFFORTS, THROUGH COOPERATION IN THE FOUR PHASES OF DISASTER:  PREPARATION, RESPONSE, RECOVERY, AND MITIGATION.


PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE


1) TO COORDINATE PLANNING EFFORTS BY MANY VOLUNTARY, FAITHER BASED AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS RESPONDING TO DISASTER


2) MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDE MORE EFFECTIVE AND LESS DUPLICATION IN SERVICE THROUGH MEETINGS AND COORDINATING EFFORTS BEFORE A DISASTER OCCURS


3) ONCE A DISASTER OCCURS, THE ELMORE COUNTY VOAD ENCOURAGES MEMBERS AND OTHER VOLUNTARY AGENCIES TO STAND BY AND AWAIT INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEPLOYMENT OF RESOURCES AND/OR SERVICES


4) THIS COOPERATIVE EFFORT HAS PROVEN TO BE THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY FOR A WIDE VARIETY OF VOLUNTEERS AND ORGANIZATIONS TO WORK TOGETHER IN A CRISIS.
